compatibility - Is it possible to use WASAPI in Visual Studio 6?

Question

I'm using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 to work on an old project. I'd like to use the WASAPI library in that project. I know WASAPI has been introduced in Vista, but do you think it's possible to do so ?

The only templates I'm finding aren't working with MV6.0.
