在“中断”的 for 循环之后，索引变量仍然存在，因此您的神奇代码将是：

 step.num <- i

虽然 for 循环在技术上是函数，但有时它们似乎有不同的范围规则，这就是这样的一次。您的函数返回 'step.num' 值，从退出后walkW，您将无法访问 'i'，但如果在 'i' 中完成了 for 循环，.GlobalEnv则索引“i”仍然不会被重置或当 for 循环通过break.
