Rather than looping through your data, you should build a playlist Queue. Then you can populate and depopulate it as necessary, and don't need to worry about the data source changing.

For the import the default music player :

To simply launch the music player do:

Intent intent = new Intent(MediaStore.INTENT_ACTION_MUSIC_PLAYER);
startActivity(intent);

please note, that this works only in SDK API level 8 up
